LMTS Plus is the logistics division of L&M Transportation Services. Formed in 2001, LMTS Plus strives to offer advanced 3PL and 4PL services to a wide range of customers in the shipping, manufacturing, procurement and distribution fields. Our customized solutions can span local, single facility operations to global supply chains and encompass all modes and functions of logistics and freight management.

We are looking for a freight bill auditor assistant to provide administrative and clerical services and to ensure accuracy and efficiency of operations. Must be dependable, able to multi-task, detail driven and work in a fast-paced environment. We have both a Part-time and a Full time positions, Monday through Friday.

Essential Functions:

  • Conduct routine audits of data, information, and procedures to ensure compliance with standard operating procedures
  • Digitize documentation into PDF format, assign files to appropriate customer shipments on our TMS (Transportation Management System)
  • Review incoming invoices, BOLs (Bill of lading), weight certificates and delivery receipts
  • Vet compliance on existing and new industry partners in order to maintain liability requirements for consigned shipments
  • Reviewing, confirming, and analyzing data from the TMS that supports received documentation

Skills and Education:

  • Ability to multi-task and work collaboratively in a fast paced, problem solving, and deadline-driven environment.
  • Professional communication skills and analytical/quantitative strengths are required.
  • Candidates should demonstrate a positive, high-energy approach to work and a willingness to learn quickly.
  • Position requires strong familiarity with computer programs including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Adobe Acrobat, as well as the ability to quickly learn our specialized TMS software.
  • Familiarity with the transportation industry a plus.
  • Candidates should have at minimum a High School Diploma or equivalent.

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • front line support of TMS internal and external customer users, can include: end user documentation, training, service issues, and general customer service
  • assist solutions team by gathering knowledge about customer business processes, developing business process models
  • work with project teams or project team leads to determine scope, customer and product requirements, and execution of system configuration, testing and general maintenance
  • develop effective solutions with moderate supervision
  • identify and implement processes to strengthen, streamline, or for possible automation
  • provide regular service issue, project status/issue updates to solution and logistics teams
  • data analysis and report development and support for internal and external customers
  • format and upload master data
  • perform data transforms into proper formats

 

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

  • ability to work independently or within a team
  • excellent computer skills with some programing and database skills
  • strong problem solving and troubleshooting capabilities
  • strong analytical skills, particularly in process and systems
  • good people skills – the ability to establish effective working relationships across multiple groups (support, internal/external customers, solution and logistics teams)
  • excellent organizational skills – ability to handle multiple tasks/meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment

 

Experience preferred

  • Excel/Access/.net/SQL/Java/HTML/XML
  • 1-3 years in operating, configuring transportation management software
  • 1-3 years in transportation or logistics industry
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent educational experience

Responsible for finding carrier capacity to move our customers freight, exceeding service standards from pickup to final delivery while ensuring the best possible price.  Includes scheduling and tracking shipments, negotiating with freight carriers and handling customer questions.

 

Essential functions:

  • Take a proactive approach in learning the importance of each task and how it affects the entire process
  • Source carrier partners and negotiate freight rates
  • Leverage technology (TMS) to efficiently manage and proactively handle exceptions
  • Communicating with carriers and drivers
  • Communicating with customers
  • Ensure accuracy of information and documents upon final delivery
